1953 Allstate from estate auction Photos
« on: November 02, 2024, 12:53:16 PM »
Hello Everybody, I am new to the site and it's a Great website for info on Henry J's and thee "I've never heard of an Allstate before." I have an interest in Henry J's because those are my initials and learned a lot reading through this forum. Anyhow I checked out this auction and saw this Allstate and saved the photos. I thought they may be of interest to others doing research on the Rare Allstates. Listing says there is a discrepancy in the odometer (456 miles) per the title, but it still looked pretty original to me. Not running and sold for $5650 + 10% to auction house, If I read that correctly.

Hope the pics come in useful as I enjoyed looking at them and learning as well.

Auction also had other Kaisers and A Darrin sports car.  Here is link to website.

I saw the car listed at the auction.  Thanks for the update and pics!  Based on the pics, which shows the data tag for confirmation, this car was originally a six cylinder car with overdrive - very rare for an Allstate.  Strange that the engine was replaced with four cylinder as usually it's the other way around, the four cylinders engines are replaced with a six cylinder.  Look like a good car for someone to get running/roadworthy and enjoy!  It has Henry J hubcaps on it as the true Allstate hubcaps/wheel covers are next to impossible to find.  It does have the two blank backup light covers - those are very hard if not impossible to find so that's a big plus.  Seems like a good deal for the money.  Here's what the Allstate hubcaps look like; No "K" on them, just a smooth spot.

I attended the auction and the pictures speak for themselves. A solid car in need of a good detailing - once running would make a good cruise night conversation piece. Although the interior was redone incorrectly, it looks good and few would know otherwise. The six cylinder engine that came out of the car was on the premises and did not sell with the car.

The other KF offerings were in similar condition with only the Darrin sold as a running and driving car ($58K).
