Hi all,  :)

I did a little searching on "GoogleImages" as well as here for images of the interior of a '51 Frazer to get a better idea of what they look like inside but to no avail.

Would anyone here like to post one or two images and particulary one or two showing the inside door "buttons" used to open the doors?

Thanks Doc,

I sure did get it and have been looking at the images of the buttons you'd sent.
I'll add more info when I return back to the States and see the 51 Frazer I've just purchaased from Ken.

I just had a set reproduced for my '51 convertible.  I got tired of putting my fingers through baked originals.

Metal or plastic repro?  That's an item I haven't seen mentioned before as related to repro.

Plastic.  They look exactly like original, and match the steering wheel, radio controls etc. perfectly.  The shop that did the bulk of the work on the car did them last year for me.  I think they still have the mold if someone wants a set.

Are those plastic door buttons? My 51F convert had plated pot metal units.

And...it doesn't mean they were right in my convert too!

I am pretty sure the plastic door buttons are correct for 1951 Frazers.  I thought only 49-50 KFs had the plated metal ones.  I have had two '51s with the plastic buttons, and I am aware of at least 7 other '51s in Missouri with plastic buttons.  My guess is that as the plastic buttons failed (which they do) people swapped them out for the more reliable metal ones.

We had a '51 Frazer standard and they were definitely plastic in that one.

I've never myself actually seen the plated metal ones in 49-50 KF products as KWZ states, but I will take everyone's word for it that they do exist, and likely, were a sensible replace for the plastic at the time. My 49 Kaiser has the plastic ones, and I have always wondered what I would do if the plastic failed due to age...

We had a '49 Frazer Manhattan which definitely had the chrome buttons. Here's a picture -

We have chorme ones on three of our four 51s, including one each sedan, convertible, and hardtop. We have two for use on the second hardtop that have the Frazer ensignia. I foind the metal retainers for the little pin are broken on each end on all of them; still usable but must be careful.

According to the 1949 Parts book, "Standard" Frazer and Kaiser Specials had the plastic; the 492 and 496 models had diecast (chrome metal) buttons.  I cannot put my hands on the 1951 Frazer book I have but would assume that the same carries over for those cars; Manhattans may have chrome, F515 models with plastics.
