1955 Aero Bermuda shocks
« on: July 31, 2013, 07:57:55 PM »
Sweet Willy now has all new shocks.  Tremendous improvement in ride and handling, especially the front.  I used Monroe Gasmatics On the rear, they are the ones shown on Ebay for the Willys, # 31094.  My original shocks (  Monroe 811643 ) are 2 7/16" longer extended and  2 7/8"  shorter compressed.  However they should be fine.  The fronts on the other hand are not listed anywhere I could find.  I searched the Monroe specification charts and only found one that was very close to my original MAECO 90613 shocks that measure 14 1/4 extended and 9 1/2 compressed.  Monroe Gas Magnum RV shock #555003 lists at 14.750" extended and 9.625 collapsed, They have L1 loops on both ends.  I have a picture of an earlier car suspension which shows a stud for top mounting, so I'm not sure these will fit the earlier cars.  I got he best price from Rock Auto .Com.  $19.46 ea. for the front and $ 15.99 ea. for the rear, plus shipping of course.  On another note I found the the rear rear rubber shackle bushings to be the same as Ford A9AZ- 5781- A, takes 8 Bshgs.
