Cylinder head wanted. 51-54 Kaiser 226
« on: July 16, 2009, 09:00:06 PM »
I'm not worried if it's all rusty outside as long as it's not warped and generally usable. I want something to experiment with, milling to up the compression ratio. And perhaps try some polishing.

Here's the catch, I'm looking for one from one of our Canadian members if possible. It's heavy and I'm not thrilled about the idea of shipping charges for a piece of cast iron. I'm sure it would double the price of the head.

Willing to drive within 200-250 miles radius of Toronto to pick up. (Which means Buffalo NY or Watertown NY would be well within my range.)

I've got one sitting here. I checked UPS and the quoted shipping would be around $50 US.

Email me with what it would be worth to you. Paypal works for me, but a falcon carrying gold Krugerrands would be great! I can also provide pictures, if you would like.

Canadians avoid UPS from the US like the plague. That $50 shipping charge will come with a $45 UPS "brokerage" fee attached at this end when it arrives. What about USPS?? It's not all that large but being cast iron I'm sure it weighs a lot. (Pity the poor postman that drops it on their toe. :o  )
