'54 Manhattan Parts Car.....$500 (Dayton, OH)
« on: July 31, 2014, 01:59:07 PM »
I keep trying to post this on the forum, and it keeps failing to appear. This time I will try it without the photos. Maybe "attachments" is causing the problem.

"Was a running car when parked (5 years ago). Now fit only for parts. I believe the engine and Hydramatic tranny are good.
The supercharger is "there" but needs a rebuild. Five hundred dollars will buy the whole car or just the
drive train (if that's all you want). If no offers, this one will go to the shredder. There are many good trim
parts here. good grille, headlight surrounds, tail lamps, radio, door panels, etc. Photos (by email) available upon request."

This is Sam's listing.  He stated that he would sell to us for $500.  The ad has several decent photos.  This surely isn't going to be scrapped for lack of interest or parted out I hope.   Especially being a Manhattan with a complete supercharger.

That looks like a very restorable car to me. In the background are a W Aero as well as a nice looking DeSoto.

Wow! Imagine what a '54 Ford or Chevy would look like for $500. It would be rusting into the ground. This is exactly why I went the K-F route.

Fred
Sam has gotten back to me quickly on my emails directly to his email provided. But, I have deleted those emails in a clean up of my emails.

Hi Fred,  :)
I never received those replies that you sent via Craig's List... don't know why.
This car is still available... no nibbles thus far. Please let me know if you want it, and I will hold it for you.
And a big Thank You to Bryan  :) for messaging me to the effect that someone on the K-F Forum "was interested". I had forgotten "check back".. :-\

If You still have the Kaiser please email Me asap. I'm very interested. Also I live in Ga and You would have to work with Me because I'll have to locate a Carrier to haul it to Me. Would You be available to be there when I can get a Carrier. Thanks so Much. Harold. haroldworthington@yahoo.com

Hello Harold, I don't think this would be a problem, as long as the hauler can let me know by cellphone when he is an hour or two away from here.

Please note that I offered this car "as a parts car" (without a title) at a price of $700 to the general public or $500 to a club/forum member.  Several people have indicated that this vehicle should be restored (not parted out).

I don't currently have a title, but believe I can get one. However, if anyone wants a title with it,
I would have to charge $700 to a club member ($900 to anyone else), as it will cost me some time and money to title it.

I do not think there is any rust-out in floorboards or trunk, but I will have to check that out.
(Am not sure if I ever actually looked in the trunk).
Please provide me with an email address if you want additional photos sent to you,
as I have not had much luck trying to post photos to the forum (thus far).

As some of you may have already heard, the "Midnight Requisitioners" paid me a visit last night.  >:( Apparently I was a bit too careless in revealing the exact location of this Kaiser, as during the night someone cut the lock on my back gate, and "helped themselves" to the blower (supercharger) from this vehicle.  :-[

Whoever did this was a skillful thief, as no unnecessary harm was done, but the bottom line is that this vehicle no longer has a blower, so you may no longer be interested. If you are still interested, please drop me an email to crosmobile-sk@yahoo.com.
