Barbara Kaiser's Kaiser?
« on: August 17, 2014, 10:30:30 PM »
Anyone know if this sellers story holds water?  According to the data plate, the car started its life as grey over white and no 999 special build.  I don't find it in the KF registry either.  It's in CA...maybe our VP knows the car??

Thoughts?  Comments??

That is a very pretty car but I have never seen it.. Hayward is about 400 miles away from me but maybe some of the Northern California guys are familiar with it.  Perhaps the car was made over for her instead of being special ordered.  It would be interesting to see his documentation.

The geography is right, the car serial number indicates it's just about the last of the regular production run for the 1954 Manhattan and it has non-factory upholstery.  The deal maker (or deal breaker) would be a look at what documentation the seller has to claim the provenance of the car.

I know worth like beauty is in the eye of the beholder but if the car was Mrs Kaiser's car and it was beyond question does that make the car more valuable?  If so how much would you speculate the ownership adds to the value of the car?

I like the car. The picture of the tag is not very clear but it does not have an 888 trim code, instead the trim code is 5324 which is Persian Gray Luxura & Boucle Vinyl according to the KFOC Handbook. Maybe the 888 was no longer used on the '54?
I've posted it on here before but here is the data tag from Edgar Kaiser's Henry J
1953 Henry J Corsair Deluxe
Edgar Kaiser's custom 1951 Henry J
1951 Kaiser Special
1952 Allstate Deluxe
