Front suspension Color

I have been cleaning years of grease and dirt off of the front suspension components and found traces of light green/blue paint. I assumed the parts including the shocks were black. I have been painting everything semigloss black and plan to paint the frame the same. is this correct?

Are you seeing the colored front suspension on the springs??
Different models have different color markings on their front springs.
What model are you cleaning up?

For his Darrin.   I would be interested in that as well, since I need two new coil springs for my Darrin.   I already have the rear leaf springs from St. Louis Spring, very reasonably priced.

All the spring mfgrs.  have no spec and either won't do it or will charge heavily to make it as a one off.   If I had the specs, I believe I would be able to get a better price.    Is there anything saying the diameter of the coil to go with the # of turns?   I don't see Darrins listed on the sheets you provided.

The colors mentioned in the parts book refer to dabs of paint that were applied based on the parameters noted in the book. It's important to note the whole spring wasn't painted that color.

And yes, the frame, suspension (front and rear), shocks and steering box should all be painted black. The original would have been what we today call 'chassis black', or most closely, a semi gloss.

That is all good information, but no I wasn't asking about the paint dabs on springs, just the base color of all of the suspension parts.  It appears that some aftermarket parts were painted blue-green and should be painted black.  When and if I decide to get to the point of paint dabs on springs the information will be valuable.
