Radiator Drain
« on: March 18, 2013, 01:17:04 PM »
Has anyone come up with a easy way to drain the 51-55 radiator without the mess of
coolant going all over including spilling into the cross bracket below the radiator? Opening
the pet****** splashes on the gravel pan and everywhere else. Looks easy, but isn't.

Attach a piece of fuel line hose to the end of the fitting and run it into a pan. Solved the problem for me on my 53 and 54.

I replaced the existing drain petcpck with one of these and attached a 12-14 inch hose with a clamp. It fits snuggly on the crossmember and extends down when you need it. They are found on ebay as "heater valves" at about $18.You won't spill a drop!
