You could have bad motor mounts or possibly your pressure plate is glazed.  In the old days we would drive up to a telephone pole and give the car a little gas and let out the clutch and get it to slip and burn some of the glazing from the clutch plate.  An old used car dealers trick!  It used to work if that was the problem. Don't do it too much.

If you rear main seal is leaking oil into the clutch housing,  you would have these symptoms. You
can easily remove the inspection cover at the bottom of the clutch hosing to look for oil. If you
see oil at the drip hole in the inspection cover, it may landed there from being blown back from
another leak up front. So remove the cover to be sure.

When my HJ was having that problem, the clutch was completely dry inside. Gordie informed me of the same method and I tried it but as he mentioned, that only works if glazing is your problem. I ended up replacing the clutch disk, the pressure plate and having the flywheel resurfaced at a machine shop. I don't know which of these fixed it but it's great now. With the J when you dig into it that deep and the problem isn't obvious (and it may not be on your car) it's best to just replace it all when  you have it apart. Of course, that costs money even if you do the work yourself.  My car shook so bad when you let the clutch out the whole rear end just seemed to bounce.  It works like new today.

While you are checking for any oil seepage, also ck. the bell housing bolts, and press. plate bolts if any are loose. Shaking/ chattering could also be caused by weak springs in press. plate.
