Rear trim piece
« on: October 14, 2017, 09:49:36 PM »
I just noticed in some pictures of Kaisers a piece of chrome trim running around the base of the roof from the back of the rear door opening, beneath the rear window, to the other side. Do they all have this? My 52 Manhattan has no such part, and the roof two toning just ends at the body crease with no trim separating the colors. I always thought it looked a little cheaply done and put a bit of pinstripe tape along the separation to dress it up a bit. What gives?

I believe 51-55 Kaisers that had factory two tone paint or a vinyl top came with the paint divider stainless strip between the rear deck and the roof. Look at the paint code on your underhood body plate. You can decode it using the KF club hand book. Maybe your car was built with single color paint and the two tone was added later.
