That 53 is a match to mine...right down to the interior. The MN car looks like it's had a coat of spray can chrome applied to the shiney parts.
Not sure about the spray can chrome or whether it just needs some serious detailing but I too like the color as one not as commonly seen - at least by me - on the 53 Kaisers. I was wondering if the interior had been redone incorrectly but I believe that would have been pointed out. I'm getting more and more burned out on projects when - in this economy - there are so many cars available that are just good drivers.
Take that 53 2 door you posted Joe F, 52,000 original miles, looks great, no need to restore, maybe he comes down $1000? and you get it for $7500. A person could own that for 10-15 years with a lot of "old car hobby" enjoyment derived from it. Exercise it maybe 2,000 miles a year on average and it would still only have 74,000 miles in 10 years.
I bought a 73 Buick recently from the original family - a car with 67,000 miles and all original in running driving condition for $2500. Some people have to have the 55-57 Chevy, the Camaro, Mustang or muscle car but for those just trying to enjoy old cars, there are a lot of bargains out there.
