Is this upholstery available anywhere? This is the exact same interior I have.

At one time, LeBaron Bonney, a company that specializes in Ford cars had material that was almost an exact match. A fellow KFer reupholstered his 48K with it. Here's a link to their current online catalog...

I got samples from Lebarron Bonney several years ago. They were not all that close. Maybe they no longer had the material you're talking about? I know SMS can remake it but it's very expensive. I'm not trying for a points car. I'm trying to get it as reasonably close to original but driveable and not have to worry about keeping it perfect as I can. Money is always an issue with me so I don't really want to pay $90-100 a yard for material. BTW, how much of each material would I need to redo the seats and door panels in my 48k?

Someone recently refered me to discounteddesignerfabrics.com  I went there last week and ordered some samples for my 49.  They looked close online, but I have not gotten the samples yet so I cant say for sure.  You might want to check them out.  SMS could get "close" but like you say $90 a yard is a lot for "close".

Can anyone tell me how much of each material I need to do the seats and doors in a '48 Kaiser?

Samples came yesterday. None of them were suitable.

So far no luck.  One of the problems I have is color.  I can find materials similar like wide wale corduroy, but finding anything other than vinyl in a rose color is nearly impossible.  I have one more place to look when I go to Florida later this month and if they don't have it I will have to settle with SMS at $90 a yard.  I would not mind the money part if it was actually the same material, but it is not; its just as close as I can come.

My material is not vinyl. It's all cloth and it's exactly the same as the car in the link I posted. I've seen it in many other 48's as well.

I think I have finally found something that will work.  It is close or good enough, but not a perfect match.  It is a good deal cheaper that the close or good match SMS offered.  I can get it in rose color (slightly off but still works with the volta cloth I picked up from the manufacturing group) and it come at $12 a yard.   Got a sample in the mail today and it is a good weight for upholstery.  Haven't ordered it yet but will shortly.  With this I have everything I need to move forward with restoring the inside of my 49.

I'm guessing that it's not the same as my material Joe?

Mine is a 48 with the same exact interior as the one in the link in my original post on this thread. I don't know what it's called.

not that is different than what I have.  The ribs are called wales and mine has about 4 wales to an inch.  This car has much wider wales.  The color should be easy to find though.  I'll go back and look at all the places I looked for mine and see if I find anything for you.  I probably have bee to 40 different sites.

I appreciate it Joe. I certainly don't mind looking myself. I've just looked at all the places I know to look. I need the solid color cloth and the cloth with the wales.
