Fuel Pump for 1952 Henry J 6cylinder 6volt
« on: February 09, 2009, 03:39:31 PM »
Does anyone know how to get a hold of a 6 cylinder, 6 volt fuel pump for a 1952 Henry J?  That or a rebuild kit or even an electric fuel pump that will fit this.

Thanks!

Contact Rudy Phillips at 760 789 3608 or Terry Zeug at 805 579 9445 and they should be able to supply them.

I know NAPA sells a six volt electric fuel pump but you'd also need to add a pressure regulator if you go the electric route. Originally the Henry J 6 cylinder used a mechanical unit, a Carter M8095 for the dual action one and I don't recall the number for the single action unit. The mechanical pumps work fine, I've never had one fail on me yet in 40+ years of messing with Henry Js. Ron Meditz and Cherry Hill Kaiser-Frazer parts, which I think is now www.kaiserwillys.com , used to sell an AC replacement which worked fine.  Another source for the mechanical ones is... on my other computer, I'll post it later but there is a place that rebuilds them and sells kits for them. I'll post it later when I find the site.

The AC is listed on this page - http://www.kaiserwillys.com/category/237  it's for the 161 CID six.  The Carter (and most other fuel pumps) can be rebuilt by "Then & Now Automotive" in Weymouth, MA. www.then-and-now.com   Their website is not working right now but their phone is 1-781-335-8860 or e-mail oldpartstom@aol.com
As someone else mentioned, Rudy and Terry are very good resources too (see previous posts).
