I started putting on the stainless trim on the doors and ran into a problem. The clips don't want to pull the stainless trim tight against the door. Is there a fix for this or do I have to buy new clips?

Hopefully all the clips ended up pulling the trim tight. If not, take a clip that worked well and compare the profile with a clip that didn't. Is the good clip flatter? If so, the bad clip has gotten bent in a bit of a "C" shape, probably while removing the trim. Usually you can flatten it out and make it work.

I changed out the clips on the door because I could get to the backside. I used a clip with a stud and a nut so I could pull it tight against the door. I can't get to the back side of the rocker but had some clips in a box.

The bad news is I don't have enough clips for the passenger side so I'm going to have to come up with something.

My rockers did not have the trim on when I bought the car. I noticed last night when I put them on they are a little banged up. The door trim is in good shape.

It is really nice to see a correct restoration on a'49-'50 sedan like this.  These are the cars that often get overlooked.  Truly stunning.
