Allstate parts
« on: October 29, 2009, 08:23:15 PM »
Hi, am new to the forum. Am putting rebuilt 4 cyl. engine back into '52 Allstate. I need a new or rebuilt trans mount. The old one is disintegrating. Also, Re. clutch parts. are the clutches that are available for Willys and Jeep L134 engines the same as those for the Henry J  Allstate?  Thanks for any help or advice.

Yes parts are available to rebuild your Allstate Engine.

If you didn't already know that these engines were also used for the Henry J and Willy Jeep. So when doing searches for parts try these in addtion to Allstate. In fact you will have more luck under the Willy Jeep and then the (Kaiser-Frazer) Henry J than you will have with the Allstate.

One of the best sources for engine parts is egge machine. http://www.egge.com/   They can also reface your Tappets.

Also try these Willy guys:    Northstar Willy      http://www.northstarwillys.com/
                                      Jungle Jim's Willy    http://willysjeepparts.com/
                                      Kaiser Willy           http://www.kaiserwillys.com/
                                      Kanter                 http://www.kanter.com/
                                      Walcks Four 4wd   http://walcks4wd.com/
                                      Midwest Jeep Willy http://www.midwestjeepwillys.com/

Here in Phoenix we have a company (4-Wheel Supply) that has some clutch parts. If you need me to check with them on anything you need let me know.

I recently had my 161L-Head 6cyl rebuilt. I sourced all the parts. If you have any trouble finding parts give me a call at 623-412-7903 or e-mail me at AZSteele123@aol.com.

Note: I can also supply Allstate Spot Lights, Allstate Foglights, Allstate Radio, and Allstate Turnsignal (less cancelling ring). At times I can supply refurbished Allstate Heaters. I can also help you source other Allstate accessories if you need them.

Best or Luck,

As AZ points out, the Henry J/Allstate used a Willys built 134 CID L-head four cylinder or 161 CID L-head six cylinder. The 134 was used in Jeeps and Willys passenger cars from the 1940s into the 1960s so parts are easy to find.  The difference is, the Henry J engines say "Kaiser Supersonic" on the head and the Allstates said "Allstate" on the head but they're all interchangeable.  Some were adapted for Autolite electrical systems but I think all Allstates used Delco-Remy electrical systems.
Best of luck

You can get the transmission mount from Rudy's KF Parts. Send him your core.  Contact him at

I put a new clutch in my Henry J in 2007. Got all the parts I needed from Northstar Willys. Just tell them you have the 134 CID and they'll know which one you need.

Thank you AZ HJ & Fid for your help. I am getting the mount from Rudy's and will contact the dealers you recmmended for clutch parts. Also will join the K-F club as soon as time permits. Can see that this will open up a reserve of contacts and knowledge. Best regards, John M.

Mark makes an excellent point about seeking engine parts as Jeep rather than Allstate or even Henry J.

In case you are interested there is a 1953-issue Kaiser-Frazer Service Bulletin that identifies by part number the various Allstate-specific items used on the cars in the 1952 and 1953 model years...anything not listed can be pulled from Kaiser-Frazer or Jeep parts stocks.
