Your tag deciphers as follows:
Model 531 = 1953 Kaiser Deluxe
Body 1 = Four door sedan
Paint 207 = Persian Gray Metallic
Trim 5003 = Explorer Gray Stockholm and Burma Vinyl
DR1 = Delivery Region United States
TR 6 = Three speed with overdrive transmission
SCHED 14 = Assembly date.
ITEM 380 = Sequential position on assembly date. Keep in mind this does not mean it was the 380th Deluxe assembled because by 1953 multiple models were rolling down the same line. We do know that the last Deluxe rolled off the assembly line on June 29, 1953.

A total of 7883 Deluxe models were assembled for 1953. Your car would have been assembled in about the first third of production.

Members of the KFOCI get the CD KFOCI HANDBOOK as a perk for joining the club (Life members and Annual Members only; the CD is considered a publication & Associate Members do not get publications).  It has a section that covers the various headers on body tags along with another section on 1953 Kaiser deluxe models and all kinds of other good things.

:)Thanks for the info, I am a club member and I haven't had a chance to go all the way through the cd yet. Is there any way to pinpoint where this deluxe was sold from or who original owner?
Thanks again,
Doc Wasson ;)

KF didn't keep records of where cars were delivered so tracking down ownership could be difficult. Over the years, a few dealers have been found that saved their sales records. But that's hit or miss at best.

This website lists all of the cars the club is aware of. If your car isn't listed, there's an email link you can use to send your information to the list owner. This way, we'll at least have some history going forward.

If my '53 Kaiser Deluxe was indeed a local car, purchased from a local dealership. The were 3 dealerships in Birmingham and 1 in Mobil, Alabama during the year of 1953 according to the dealership list.
Thanks,
Doc
