I added an inline fuel pressure regulator from Mr Gasket which I found locally at PepBoys. This dropped the pressure to 4 psi. Also found some crap in the needle and seat which didn't help. Thanks for the help. Hope this rebuilds my confidence in driving her. Its been a shaky few weeks.

Any ideas on how to reduce it? I'm sure thats the culprit because it floods with either carb on it.

my 53 DeLuxe Corsair keeps overflowing the carb.I've tried a rebuilt Carter YF, a rebuilt Rochester, with same result. Its a six cyl. car with a rebuilt double action fuel pump. The pump is putting out 8 psi which is too high, but I've been told by Then and Now that this still shouldn't overflow the carb. Float drop and level has been checked and double checked. Any ideas ?

Thanks for the info. I have a Carter YF on a parts motor in the shed. I think I'll probably rebuild that as my local NAPA looked at me like I was from space when I gave them the info found on the Rochester. And yes, my son says its the same carb on a 50 Chevrolet pickup he worked on recently

Does anyone know the model number of the Rochester Carb used on my 53 Cosair ? I can't find any markings other than it being a Rochester. I'm looking to find a rebuilding kit. Kit numbers would be real helpful also. Thanks
Jeff

I'll have to dig deeper. It may not be a factory installation. I'll keep you updated. Thanks

My 53 which I recently bought has a factory heater but no obvious switch for the blower. It has a light to the right of the steering column which I assume indicates its on but the holes on both sides of the steering have factory plugs in them. No switch that I can find. Any help will be appreciated in finding the on/off switch.

Check with NAPA. They got my front seals no problem.
